Farewell to Kings have been described by some as one of the best kept secrets in the music business.
Combining elements of rock, blues, and roots music with heartfelt lyrics, this band from Southern, In. has
developed a sound and style that is raw and full of emotion.
Since releasing their first cd/demo "The Melonpatch Recordings" in May 2002, they have had several
songs receive radio air play. One song, "Cold Month of December", was #1 on the 100.5 the Fox local
show "Louisville Rocks" and was also featured on Louisville's 105.1 WLRS local show "KY Fried". Another
song "Hero" was getting several plays a day from 96.3 WJAA in Seymour, IN and was the #1 acoustic
song in Indiana on MP3.com for much of 2002. In February 2003, undergoundlou.com's station
manager liked the band so much that he put them into full rotation on the popular internet radio station.
A self described live band, Farewell to Kings has been performing throughout Southern Indiana and the
Louisville, KY area over the past year, developing a strong local fan base. Young and old alike have
been drawn to the songs and sound of Farewell to Kings. As more people are turned on to this band
the title of "Best Kept Secret" will someday be erased.
