Following in the footsteps of Days of the New, Tantric, Flaw, and Outspoken,
Breckinridge strives to be the next band signed out of the new Music Mecca of
Louisville, Ky.
Formed in 2000 in Louisville, Breckinridge began as a passion between high school
friends Teague Ridge and Chuck Willis. Chuck had approached Teague about recording
some of his own tracks, but their conversations quickly turned to the
idea of forming a rock band with the goal of signing with a major label.
Three other members were quickly added, including current guitarist Critter, but the
lineup changed four times before settling on the final lineup that includes
guitarist Rahul Borkar and drummer Scott McKenzie. With each new lineup
the sound also changed, maturing from an original trendy rap/rock sound
to an alternative rock sound that is very much their own.
From the beginning, Breckinridges hook-laden songs have helped to create
a strong following in the Louisville area. Fans called into local radio
Stations LRS 105.1 and 100.5 the Fox to request their songs: Honesty
was one of the Top 5 requested songs on LRSs local show for 25 straight
weeks and Walk Away was in the regular rotation on the Foxs local show for 30
straight weeks. Their newest song, Destruction is currently receiving a high level of
requests on the Fox.
While Breckinridge's songs helped them reach a large audience in the Louisville area,
it was the incredible energy of their live shows that began the buzz. With Chuck leading
the way Breckinridge shows were, and continue to be, an interactive experience: fans
pressed against the front of the stage, trying as much as they could to be a part of the
music that consumed them. Now this buzz has started to reach the entire music industry
with Element H recently playing a showcase in Louisville for a national label.
With their radio-friendly songs and incredible live performances, Breckinridge knows
that they will be ready when that big break heads their way.
