Throughout two independently released solo albums, Completely Blue (2001) and Sci-Fi Guy (2003), Scot's cliche'-phobic writing is characteristically guitar-driven, melodically distinct, and lyrically provocative. Scot has contributed tunes to both of Jakeleg's Ear-Xtacy label releases Pour Me to Bed (2000) and Junkyard Cafe (2001). More recently he has contributed tunes to Tess Arkel's release Orphan of the Heart (2003) and was guitarist on Joni Wilcoxson's award winning debut, Sidewalks (2003). Scot released a third album with the Louisville band he fronts - Hipmonk (Pushing Stones, 2005). The collaboration in Hipmonk combines Kirkby Tittle's 'bourbon-soaked' rock/Americana sound of Jakeleg with Scot's psychotropic, often quirky, melodic and temporal sensibilities. A native of San Diego, Scot is an instructor and neuroscience researcher in the department of anesthesiology at the University of Louisville's School of Medicine.
